Google Streetwise Project in Trouble in the UK

Google's collection of unencrypted Wi-Fi data is in trouble again, and this time in the UK. The British government's privacy watchdog, which initially cleared Google of wrongdoing, is now taking steps to audit Google's data protection practices in the UK. The British Information Commission Office (ICO) decided to revisit the case after the Canadian government found the practice of collecting data by Google Street View mapping cars guilty of privacy rights infringement. It will be interesting to see how this affects Google Street View in the UK in the future.
