How to Clean the Registry

The Windows registry is a database of all the information about the computer and software installed on the computer. The main purpose of the Windows registry is to store the configuration of the different software programs installed on the computer, the hardware installed or attached to the computer, and any other special settings the user has implemented.

Your registry can build up unnecessary entries over time from the adding/removing of programs, hardware, and files. These unnecessary entries can cause your computer to become slower and slower over time. Due to this, it is recommended that you clean your registry every so often to fix all the issues with the registry. You can clean the registry with a registry cleaner.
