Best Background: Google or Bing?

Not quite long ago, Google search, in what seemed like a frantic rush to look just like Bing picture of the day, decided to test background images. The test was supposed to last for 24 hours, however due to bug problems, the company decided to pull the plug. Unlike Bing, Google decided to do it different though. Users were given the free hand to use any picture of their choice as Google's search background.

A bug prevented users from undoing background changes back to vanilla Google and users reacted angrily out of frustration. Some users claim not to have experienced any difficulties though.

One thing that surprises a lot of people is the fact that Google seems to be trying to make their search homepage look very much like Bing? Are they worried about the fact that humans think in pictures? Of course, so many people will argue that the reason why they prefer Bing over Google search is because of the beautiful background which changes by the day.
