Android set to be Number 2 Mobile OS by 2013

According to a new report by IDC, Google's Android mobile will become the second largest Mobile Operating system by 2013. The report placed symbian as the largest operating system of the cell phone world. The symbian success is attributed to Nokia dominance of the cellphone market outside the United States.

Furthermore, IDC forecasts that worldwide shipments of Smartphones will surpass 390 million units with an annual growth of 20.9 percent. Good product features and the right choice of mobile OS will continue to be the determining factor between success and failure of a smartphone in the market.
