Top Mobile Phone Companies

According to a recent report from the research firm IDC, Nokia continues to retain the position as the number one mobile phone vendor worldwide. Samsung is steady at the second position followed by LG, which hovers in the third spot. Apple came up strongly from behind to earn the fourth position, ahead of R.I.M which is at the fifth position.

Nokia controls 32.4% market share as of 2010. Samsung enjoyed close to 21.0% but the biggest shocker came from Apple. Apple had a year-over-year change of 90.5% to capture a world wide market share of 4.1%.
